Communications Minister Murad Saeed has vowed to take legal action against Prime Minister Imran Khan’s former wife Reham Khan over making 'disgracing' remarks about him and the premier in her book published in July 2018.

According to Dawn, Saeed at a press conference on Thursday said: “I have decided to take legal course of action and my legal team is sitting to decide how to proceed.” However, he didn’t name Reham Khan in his comments.

Meanwhile, PM Imran has filed a complaint against an additional session judge in Islamabad claiming that his judgement “favoured journalist Mohsin Jamil Baig,” who was arrested by the FIA earlier this week on Saeed's complaint about making “unethical remarks” about him and the premier in a television show.

"During the arrest, the accused has taken the law into his own hands and attacked the raiding party," it read.

The raid at Baig’s house was declared “illegal” by the additional judge. However, the PM believes that anybody who takes the law into their own hand should be held accountable in the state of law.

Advocate General Niazullah Niazi told the newspaper, “The prime minister has directed me to file a petition/reference against Additional Session Judge Islamabad Zafar Iqbal for giving judgement beyond his mandate before Islamabad High Court chief justice.” He called the judge’s order to be “biased” because it included the decision only on the illegal detention of Baig.

The reference of the “derogatory story” Baig told on the show was Reham Khan’s memoir. When asked by a reporter at the presser why he didn’t take action against the person whose book was used as a reference to malign him, Saeed said “legal action would be taken shortly against her.”

Responding to Saeed's statement, Reham Khan tweeted, "3 years late & in the wrong territory."
