PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday called a press conference to address the controversy related to the arrest of the son-in-law of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and senior PML-N leader Capt(retd) Safdar. Bilawal demanded answers and said that Sindh police officials are wondering "who were the people who surrounded" the Sindh police chief's house in the early hours of Monday.
Bilawal said that 'Sindh police officials are demoralized and humiliated because they were pressurized into arrested Safdar. He also said that police are wondering "who were the people who surrounded" the Sindh police chief's house in the early hours of Monday.
Leave applications put forward by high ranking Sindh police officials including Inspector General (IG) Mushtaq Mahar, Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi, AIG Special Branch Imran Yaqoob, and several Deputy Inspector Generals (DIG) on Tuesday after they were allegedly pressurized to register a case against Capt(retd) Safdar on Monday, had promoted Bilawal's press conference.
