In a timely swipe at PM Imran Khan, PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the joint opposition will trap the ‘devil of Bani Gala’ tomorrow in reference to the no-trust vote and the start of holy month of Ramzan.

The PPP chairperson was flanked by party leaders as he addressed the media in Islamabad after PM Imran’s live telethon in which he urged people to come out on the streets to protest against the “internationally-hatched conspiracy that has culminated in a no-trust vote to bring about a regime change”.

"[PM Imran] is a person who has lost, who knows he is defeated and now he will try to cause unrest,” said Bilawal, calling it a major concern.

“He will either try to instigate violence either inside the Parliament or outside. He will resort to violence to undermine our democratic process,” he added.

He also urged the country’s top court to take action against the prime minister for instigating violence.

"We shouldn’t allow anyone to play with the country's democracy and future," he continued while adding that his party knew how to ensure the security of its lawmakers.

Meanwhile, the Islamabad district administration has already imposed section-144 in the Red Zone, the area where the Parliament and other key government departments are located, banning rallies and gatherings in the area. The administration said violators would face strict action.

The PPP chief also repeated his calls for PM Imran to step down voluntarily in a ‘show of sportsmanship’ instead of throwing tantrums like a child. "Stop whining, these childish acts will not work now.”

Bilawal added that once PM Imran is ousted, the current opposition won’t pursue the incumbent’s policy of using state institutions to target political rivals.

I ask Shehbaz Sharif, after he is installed as the new prime minister, not to launch a political vendetta against the prime minister. However, he added that if the premier resorts to “unconstitutional means” to disrupt the no-trust vote, then he will not be spared. “We will use Article 6 against you.”
