Amid the brewing political atmosphere, the ministers on Sunday criticised the opposition for their anti-government protest and shrugged off any attempts to dislodge the ruling party from the Centre.

Ministers – including Fawad Chaudhry, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Ali Zaidi, and Murad Saeed – separately made statements regarding the prevailing political situation, which has picked the heat after the multi-party confab attempt to woo ruling allies for the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan in parliament and PPP’s protest against the government.

The government, which has been blaming the previous rulers for the country’s issues, has said that it would complete its five-year tenure and PM Imran Khan would also be staying till the next elections. According to the country’s history, claims pertaining to the incomplete tenure of the government had been rife and the opposition continues its criticism against the ruling party.

“I am saying that next week the opposition will go back to their homes with their movement and all their claims will fizzle out,” Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said in a tweet.

He added that PM Imran would leave for “important visits” after the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Council of Foreign Ministers meeting this month. According to Fawad’s Saturday presser, the premier would soon visit Europe.

Moreover, Maritime Affairs Minister Ali Zaidi also lambasted the PPP for apparently not providing the basic resources in Sindh. Zaidi, who is with the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in protest against PPP ruled Sindh, the march would reach Karachi where it would culminate. He added that the party would announce the forward strategy there.

“The people of Sindh are fed up with the continuous PPP rule and they are seeking an alternate to this. The PTI has emerged as the alternate to the PPP,” FM Qureshi said, along with Zaidi, in a press conference in Hyderabad.

In Karachi, he said the protest leaders and the party’s Sindh leadership would present the Charter of Demand which would embody the rights of the provincial people. He refuted any claims regarding PTI leaders were in contact with the PPP, adding that the party leaders were “completely intact.”

In addition to this, Communications Minister Murad Saeed berated the opposition for their “economic policies” and “corrupt practices”. He praised PM Imran for bringing “change” to the country.

Furthermore, Special Assistant to the PM on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill took a jibe at the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s press conference in Lahore.

“Now it is known that they [PPP] want to bring a no-confidence motion against the assembly speaker and not against Prime Minister [Imran] as it involves secret balloting,” he said in a tweet.

The premier’s aide alleged that such parties come to the fore through secret ways.
