Britain's Prime Minister Boris Johnson accompanied the Liverpool police on drug raids early on Tuesday morning, disguised as a police officer in official police gear. As photos of the operation surfaced online, Johnson became subject of intense ridicule.

"We're going to clamp down on the county lines drugs gangs with £300 million of funding and invest in rehabilitation to help problem drug users get their lives back on track," said Johnson in a tweet.

Twitter users compared him to several animated characters.

One said he looks like someone out of South Park, an animated satirical American sitcom.

Another said he resembles Mr. Benn, a character from children’s books, who is known for stepping out the back door of a costume shop into a magical adventure, dressed appropriately.

British television writer and producer Jed Mercurio mocked Johnson and said, “Thank you for submitting your audition for the next series of #LineofDuty but we’re looking for a character with at least one redeeming moral principle and a performance that places even just a scintilla of doubt in the audience’s mind that he might not be totally bent.”

The drug raids Johnson witnessed are part of “Operation Toxic” aimed to infiltrate county line drug dealings.

In 2007, Johnson has admitted to using cocaine and cannabis while at university, and Twitter users hadn't forgotten.

A top British lawmaker has also recently asked the police to investigate and crack down on the use of illegal drugs in London’s Palace of Westminster, where member of the UK’s parliament meet do conduct official business.
