ISLAMABAD: Vowing to bring powerful under the ambit of law, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday said that the dream of true democracy and prosperity will not be materialized without upholding rule of law.

The premier said Pakistan will have to follow the principles of morality, rule of law, humanity, and meritocracy as set by the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) to become an ideal welfare Islamic state.

Addressing the concluding session of the two-day National Rematul-lil-Aalameen Conference in Islamabad, the premier said that the nations always destroy due to the separate laws for the powerful and the weakest segments of the society.

The countries which moved ahead in the world had high moral standards, justice and equality, he maintained.

“Our struggle is for justice and creating a society where right prevailed and poor received justice.”

Tribesmen in Afghanistan always remained free due to their justice system and they fought all the super powers of the world, he noted.

He said we will have to follow the principles of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Mohammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wa Aalehe Wassalam Khatam-un-Nabiyeen if we want to become a great nation.

Khan said Islam gave rights to every segment of life, including women, slaves, and elderly. Holy Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is our role model and we can become successful by following His Sunnah, he added.

The Prime Minister said Islam also laid great emphasis on the importance of education for everyone, including men and women.

The premier said that due to the teachings of Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) Muslims were able to achieve a lot.

"He stressed Muslims to seek knowledge, even if they have to go to China for the purpose. By acquiring knowledge, Muslims became the greatest scientists of the world in the past," the PM said.

The Prime minister said Pakistan had everything but people needed to change their path to achieve success and change Pakistan according to the model of Riyasat e Madina.

About 25 years back, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was founded to struggle for a welfare state, he recalled.

He said Rahmatul lil Aalameen Authority was formed to make youth familiar about the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Highlighting the main features of the authority, the Prime Minister said it will comprise an international cell to give a calculated response to any Islamophobic incident in the western world.

He said the authority, will be chaired by an Islamic scholar and its aim will be to guide the youth on the path of the last Prophet. He said Rehmatul-lil-Aalameen scholarships will be given to the youth on merit.

The Prime Minister said the government is taking steps to take the country towards a welfare state.

He said a programme under the umbrella of Ehsas will be launched next month to provide targeted subsidy on essential commodities to the marginalized communities. He said under Kamyab Program, interest free loans will also be given to the people in urban and rural areas.

A five-minute documentary highlighting the rise and fall of Muslim rule in the world was also shown on the occasion.

The 12th of Rabi ul Awal is being celebrated across the country today (Tuesday) with traditional zeal and fervour. It is the anniversary of the birth of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Already announced a public holiday, the day started with a 31 and 21-gun salute in the federal and provincial capitals, respectively.

Special prayers are being offered in mosques to uphold and flourish Islam and religious teachings, unity, solidarity, progress, and the welfare of the Muslim community.
