Eight other suspects have been taken into custody in the case of assault at Minar-e-Pakistan after the victim issued a new statement, Aaj News reported on Friday.

Of the eight men taken into custody were two friends of the woman and TikTokers who worked with her: Rambo and Amir Sohail, said the police.

According to the Aaj News report, the woman blamed her friend Rambo and others for planning and instigating the incident. She claims he was also blackmailing her with videos.

Following the incident in March, police rounded up 104 men and took them into custody for their part in the assault. Of them, the woman was able to identify six whereas three confessed to the crime.

A local court ordered the release of 98 men as she was unable to identify them in a parade.

Following the reporting of Friday's news, Twitter was ablaze with name calling of the woman, calling her statement of blame of Rambo as an admission of guilt and that she defamed Pakistan.
