Two Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred after terrorists opened fire from inside Afghanistan across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border on Sunday.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that terrorists inside Afghanistan opened fire on a military checkpost in the Bajur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

"Terrorists from inside Afghanistan across the international border, opened fire on a military post and Pakistan Army troops responded in a befitting manner, reads the statement."

Two to three terrorist were killed and three to four injured during an exchange of fire with Pakistan Army troops in Bajaur district.

In exchange of fire, Sepoy Jamal and Sepoy Ayaz embraced shahadat.

Pakistan strongly condemns the use of Afghan soil by terrorists for activities against Pakistan and expects that existing and future setup in Afghanistan will not allow such activities against Pakistan.

"Pakistan has consistently been asking Afghanistan to ensure effective border control on their side. Pakistan strongly condemns the continuous use of Afghan soil for terrorist activities against Pakistan," the ISPR maintained.
