Lockdowns across the country

Sindh continued to monitor the partial lockdown imposed on Saturday to ensure there were no violations.

The prime minister has been highly critical of Sindh's decision to go into lockdown saying it will impact the working class and laborers who will go hungry.

The PTI government has espoused a strategy of smart lockdown, imposing restrictions on localities where Covid cases are on the rise. They believe this is an effective strategy that takes economics into account.

On Monday, head of the NCOC Asad Umar said they were imposing restrictions on several cities across the country to contain the virus. These restrictions would be a month long and included things like shutting the markets at 8pm from 10pm and banning indoor dining altogether. However, outdoor dining was allowed till 10pm and takeaway till midnight.

Umar also said 50% staff was required at both public and private sector organizations.
