As Pakistanis marked the second day of Eid ul Azha, the positivity rate for coronavirus jumped to 6.3% with active cases standing at 52,752.

NCOC released figures on Thursday morning showing that 40 people had died of Covid in the last 24 hours. It also said 2,158 tested positive in the same period.

The death toll from Covid has now reached 22,928 and 922,929 patients have recovered from the infection.

The government is trying to encourage citizens to get vaccinated so to protect themselves from the disease, especially the Delta variant which is spreading fast as per report from various hospitals which say they are full.

Dr Faisal Sultan, SAPM on health issues, tweeted a infographic showing how vaccinations can protect citizens.
