COVID-19: Pakistan reports 2,664 new cases and 32 deaths in 24 hours

Pakistan on Sunday has reported 2,664 new cases and 32 COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours.

Pakistan on Sunday has reported 2,664 new cases and 32 COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours.

According to statistics shared by National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the country's nerve center for unified efforts against coronavirus, 40,564 coronavirus tests were taken, 2,664 new confirmed cases were registered, and 32 deaths were reported countrywide in the last 24 hours.

There are currently 1,805 critical patients of COVID-19 admitted at different hospitals in the country.

With these latest statistics, the country's total number of confirmed cases stands at 605,200. Pakistan has so far recorded 13,508 coronavirus-related deaths, and a total of 570,571 patients have recovered from the novel disease.

The country has so far conducted 9485702 coronavirus tests countrywide.

Third wave of COVID-19: Asad Umar hints at yet another lockdown:

Federal Minister for Planning and Development and National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) head Asad Umar said on Saturday that government may have to opt for another lockdown in parts of the country if there is a continued increase in coronavirus cases.

Asad Umar on Saturday chaired a meeting of NCOC to discuss the latest Covid situation in the country and implementation of coronavirus SOPs. During the meeting, concerns were raised over the soaring positivity ratio of COVID-19 cases.
