Islamabad: National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the nerve center to synergize and articulate a unified national effort against COVID-19, reported today that at least 50 people died due to coronavirus-related causes in the past 24 hours.

Yesterday, 38,453 people were sampled for Covid-19 across Pakistan out of which 1,196 tested positive for the viral infection.

  • The number of active novel coronavirus cases in the country has reached 23,665.

Yesterday's tally of new cases takes the total tally to 574,580. While at least 12,708 people have been reported to die from COVID-19. It must be noted that these are very conservative figures owing to a multitude of reasons and the actual number of viral cases and casualties are estimated to be much bigger in the country.
