Rapper, designer and former Trump supporter Kanye west has kicked start presidential campaign on Sunday. In his first engagement as a US presidential candidate, he broke down in tears while speaking to people in Charleston, South Carolina.

West was wearing a bulletproof jacket and had 2020 shaved on the back of his head and went on to ramble about controversial topics such as abortion and pornography.

The rapper told the audience how he and wife Kim Kardashian almost got an abortion when they were expecting their first child 'North'.

"So my girlfriend called me and I just thought to myself, ‘Please don’t tell me I gave Kim Kardashian AIDS,” west said and added, "She said she was pregnant, and for one month, and two months, and three months, we talked about her not having this child. She had the pills in her hand. When you take the pills, and if you take it, the baby’s gone."

The couple eventually decided to keep the baby. "So even if my wife were to divorce me after this speech, she brought North into the world, even when I didn’t want to. She stood up and she protected that child," the rapper said while addressing the rally.

The US presidential candidate also shared with his supporters while bursting into tears that his father wanted to abort him but his mother came to the rescue:

"You know who else protected a child? Who do you think might have protected a child? My mum saved my life. My dad wanted to abort me. My mum saved my life. There would have been no Kanye West, because my dad was too busy!”

Kanye West has previously supported Donal Trump and is a candidate for November's presidential elections.
